--- Quote from: FrizzleFried on March 05, 2007, 11:18:14 am ---The brasington site offered DOUBLE DONKEY KONG kits...now Mikes Arcade does. But other than a hack with a selector a guy built custom, I have not seen any kind of multi donkey kong (all 3 games) kit? The other link, gamehourz...loaded to a blank page for me? EDIT: I can get in to the gamehours MAIN page, as soon as I try any other page, it loads to a blank page. --- End quote --- Here is the quote from the gamehours site. I hope it helps good luck on finding a solution. --- Quote ---I have an extra Nintendo cab and was thinking about converting it to a Multi Kong. I was going to use a DK Jr. Board and have Mike's Arcade convert it to a Double DK. Then I saw that Arcade Shop's programable Jamma board supports both DK and DK Jr. and also DK 3 and the new DK "Rivet Factory" hack. I guess I'd rather have a new monitor, switching PS, and Jamma harness anyway and this seems like the way to go for reliability. I've used the programable Jamma in my Multi Williams and am happy with it. Any thoughts? Has anyone played any of the DK's on the programable Jamma? Is it the same? --- End quote --- |

Thanks Kaytrim... ...not a good solution though. The price is steep $360 for the board, add a switcher PS, harness, programming cable, additional power supply for programming and the price is more like $450+.... ...plus it just plays the friggin' ROM file...that you load in...I may as well just MAME the darned cabinet if I was going to do it...I could MAME it cheaper! ...argh... |

Yea, you wouldn't need much computing power for those old games. Could probably get by with MAME .68 (not sure of version) and an old PII or PIII processor running DOS or Win98. If you go that route then you can add other 4-way, one button games as well. However IMHO a nice classic like the one you have would be best honored as a restored cab not a MAME cab.
