| Original Ms. Pacman Arcade with manual. HELP ME! restore a classic |

I bought a Ms. Packman arcade machine at the flea market. I got it home and it turns on, but the monitor does not turn on and when you flip the switch it makes the different pacman noises evey time i press the joystick and same sound when you press the start buttons. HELP ME! i want to fix it but don't know were to start. |

There is enough info on this site alone that would allow you to have some idea of where to start. Read the main site. Check out the Wiki (I am sure CheffoJeffo will be around soon to provide a link). FWIW, from the little bit of info you gave, I would guess that your monitor is the problem. |

HELP ME! i want to fix it but don't know were to start. --- End quote --- IF the game is running...... you will get pacman noises..... have you tried sticking a coin in it and listening, then press player 1 start and confirm that you can hear the game running properly. If the monitor is dead, then don't you think that might be a good starting point.... Check the fuses on the power supply, then check the fuses on the power section of the monitor board. If those are all OK check the voltages feeding the monitor board. There you go... that should keep you busy for a while. Best Regards, Julian (Fozzy The Bear) |

There should be a switch inside the coin door, turn it the other way and see if it coins and makes game play noises. If the neck of the monitor lights up and the color and sync wires from the pcb are intact you might want to just replace the monitor, or have someone rebuild it as they are dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. |
