I was in HD today and saw that they have a 12-amp, 7.5" Circular Saw for $29.99.  I decided to pick one up, and after using it today to cut some panels, it is well worth the money.

I don't know if it's been mentioned before but Harbor Freight (www.harborfreightusa.com) has some pretty outstanding value tools.  Especially good if you only plan to use it once or twice.  It's best to go to a brick and mortar store, but shipping is usually pretty reasonable from them.

If you register with them they'll send you coupons every week (by e-mail) that give up to about 50% off.

I've gotten some great tools, some average tools, and some not so great tools.  Mostly great and average though.  You take your chances, but they're good about returns.

I picked up a Milwaukee "The Hatchet" Reciprocating saw from Home Depot for $60.  It normally goes between $130 to $150, so it is a huge markdown!  I know reciprocating saws aren't used much for arcade purposes, but I actually needed it to modify my cab framing and cut through some screws!

Although it doesn't have as much power as reciprocating saws in its price range, it's more compact and has a pivoting handle to get into hard to reach places.  It's a very handy tool, just google for more info.

That's pretty similar to the stapler and nailer I got at Home Depot for $80.  However, my stapler/nailgun came with the compressor too.   :applaud:

I just found an AWESOME webiste thanks to the folks over at woodworkingtalk.com.

Reconditionedsales.com

They are a licensed Hitachi and Freud resaler and sell reconditioned tools at a GREAT price.  "Reconditioned" just means that the tool was used and returned, a display piece, a piece that was pulled from the assembly line for random testing, or a piece with a defect that was spotted during manufacturng.  In order to be re-sold the entire tool needs to be re-examined and any issues at all must be fixed.  However, since it is not in the original packaging it can NOT be sold as new.  Because of this, you get the equivalent of a brand new tool for FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR below the price of a new one.

Earlier this week I picked up a Hitachi C12FCH 12" compound miter saw with laser guide.  This thing is GREAT!  Retail price is approximately $488.00 new, and I got mine for $201 including shipping.  The miter saw is incredibly sturdy and cuts through wood like it's butter.  Plus, with the laser guide all my cuts are ultra accurate.  I've done a LOT of testing with weird angles and bevels, and they all come out great because of the laser guide and the fine tuning adjustments you can make.

In retrospect, I wish I picked up the version that has an LCD display on it which tells you the EXACT miter/bevel you're cutting at since it's only $20 more, but ah well.  I'm just happy to have this miter saw after using a POS Harbor Freight saw I bought for $40.

For any Woot.com shoppers, the last two days they've been sometimes selling a Plunge router for, like $30. I keep barely missing out as it sells out super quick. A coworker said that sometimes they re-post items that they had earlier in the day.

I already forgot the brand. I had a yellow color scheme, but definitely wasn't DeWalt. I'm sure it wasn't one of the higher-end routers, but maybe for someone only doing a small project it would be worthwhile.

Anyone ever worked with the Chicago Electric Multi tool

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=65700

Harbor freight has them for 40$.

I know Festool makes one that's big $$$. Just wondering if the Chicago electric version was worth anything.

I picked up one of these Craftsman 10" table saws on Saturday for $99. I'll let you know how she cuts next week.
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00921802000P?vName=Tools&keyword=table+saw

I know it's probably cheap quality, but it's gotten good reviews and will see light work from me.

For Canadians, Canadian Tire has a 36 peice router bit set for 75% off right now ($230 for $60). Doesn't include a slot cutting bit but is still a great start. The bits appear to be decent quality.

I just got an email about the new Bosch Jigsaw.

Sunrise has it for 149, which is 20-50 less than most of the other websites I saw it on. The saw isn't even listed on Google shopping yet.

Sears has a nice corded fixed/plunge Craftsman router for sale at the moment, which has gotten some good reviews from various woodworking sites. Normally $119.99, on sale for $79.88. (Model 17543) Scooped one up myself, and has done a great job on my cab so far.

WEN Sliding Miter saw - http://www.menards.com/main/tools-hardware/power-tools/saws/wen-10-sliding-compound-miter-saw/p-1498050-c-9082.htm

Normally $150 but $99 right now until 4/1/2012.  Also if you buy it in store at Menards you can get a $20 dollar mail in rebate so it's only $80 then.  Here's the Amazon link (http://www.amazon.com/WEN-70711-10-Inch-Sliding-Compound/dp/B003BYRFM8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333111968&sr=8-1) where they saw it's decent for the $150 price so for 80-99 is a good buy.  Just don't expect to go making professional crown molding.

Also, if you're asking what you can use a miter saw for it would be for any support joists you might need.

Its November and you know what that means! Black Friday deals! I am currently trying to build my array of tools for all kinds of different projects including arcade cabinet building. I would appreciate any finds that you come across. I am probably going to hit up Sears today as they are having a huge craft tool members discount.

Picking up this as my first router:

Will probably get a sander as well.

All I have at the moment is Ryobi 18v kit which has a

Reciprocal Saw, Hand Saw, Multi Tool, Drill.
10" Milwakee Miter saw that I am borrowing from my pops.
Rigid Super Clamp x 2 (picked em up at HD for $34 marked down from 159)

Picking up that Router and a sander.

Looking to get the following soon:

Wet/Dry Vac (Saw Shopvac 14 gallon for $39 at lowes for Black Friday)
Air Compressor
Brad Nailer
Finish Nailer
Jig Saw

Let me help you on this one.... DON'T get a Craftsman router...  :lol

I bought this set this spring and now wish I had done some more research. http://www.sears.com/craftsman-12-amp-2-hp-fixed-plunge-base-router/p-00927683000P?prdNo=3&blockNo=3&blockType=G3

Truthfully though my only gripe is when it comes to getting accessories for it. (Router table plate, sub base plate, etc..) The power and performance are good. If you don't mind doing a little DIY like I had to in order to have those things, then by all means push for and conquer. The big one is how the bases aren't adjustable. I had to bore them out with a Forstner bit and get flat bottomed screws in order to get adjustment for a guide bushing.

If I had it to do over again though I would have gone with the DeWalt DW618PK set. In fact, I will have to do it all over again because this winter I am building myself a CNC machine and relegating the Craftsman router to it  :)

Too late now.. already bought the router. I ended up getting it for $62 bucks and had $10 in giftcards along with it going on our sears card and adding a few extra bucks ontop of that. Too good of a deal to pass up. I am going to building a custom router table for this so it was perfect.
