Home Depot is having a 17% off DeWalt and 20% off Rigid power tools sale until 3/31:
Race for SavingsThe TS3650 table saw appears to be part of the deal. At my local HD, they dropped the price on it from $549.00 to $467.00. It had the 20% off sticker on the display as well. Obviously, $467 is not 20% off of $550, so I asked someone to check and he said the price would ring up as $467. I'm going back in today to try to get it for $373.60 since the price marked on the floor is not 20% off, the .00 shows that the price was reduced, and the website image shows that the saw is part of the 20% off sale.
The TS3650 is probably on clearance because they are getting rid of them in order to stock the new model, TS3660. From what I've read and researched, the TS3660 features mostly cosmetic updates over the TS3650. They changed the side panels on the legs and a bit on the front panel as well, which might make the legs a bit stiffer. However, the saw has gotten fairly good reviews for a contractor saw to the point that it's very close to being more like a hybrid with the exception of the exposed rear motor.
I'm sold on the Herc-U-Lift system because I currently have a VERY small space to work in and I hate moving my BT3000 around when I need to use it. The other option is move to a new house, but that's a little more expensive than $373
EDIT: Darn, I just found this:
Race for Savings flyerIt looks like the sale is UP TO 20% off, not necessarily a full 20%, and $467 is the price (15% off). That sucks knowing that there's a new model coming. I might have to call around and see if anyone locally has the 3660 in stock yet and try to get it for the $467 price. I have to go to HD for a separate project later today anyhow, so I'm going to check out how they have the price labeled on the other sale items to see if I can make a case for an additional 20%.
EDIT 2: And, just to add more to a post that probably nobody but me cares about, I called around and some of the HDs in my area have the new TS3660 available and it's apparently at the sale price of $467 as well. I think I might have a new saw real soon... anyone want a slightly used BT3000 with a few accessories?
EDIT 3: And the saga comes to an end... I just have to get the 325 lb. box out of the back of my truck and begin the multi-hour assembly. I decided it was meant to be when I got back in my truck at HD and I had an email waiting on my phone from someone looking to buy my old saw.
