Cabaret Plans?
csa3d:
I was wondering if there are any plans around for cabaret cabinets. I particularly am interested in building a scratch made Asteroid Deluxe Cabaret, but have not found any plans available. The design seems cake compared to a full build, and maybe someone with a machine like this could take some photos and measuments possibly???
Thanks!

bump. Does anyone own one of these and would be willing to take some measurements and photographs? I'd be willing to construct plans if so.

NickG:
this may help, it is usually spelled cabaret (not caberet) there are quite a few examples on the examples pages of byoac...didn't see any of the Asteroids deluxe, though.

not much to go on...
edit- I think all the info on that site was actually originally copied from MAWS or to MAWS or some other site so I don't know the real source, too bad.
Tailgunner:
Those numbers have been rounded, the original dimensions are listed on the back of the flyer as:
Height: 54.25" (137.79cm)
Width: 20.44" (51.91cm)
Depth: 23.75" (60.32cm)
Weight:185 lbs (83.9kg)
15" Quadrascan Monitor
Basic dimensions are commonly listed on the flyers, and occasionally you'll get a usable line drawing you can use so they're generally worth checking when researching projects like this one. TAFA is a KLOV like repository of arcade flyers and a great resource.
The Battlezone cabaret used the same cabinet, so reference pictures of it would be usable as well. Here are a few.
KLOV has a operator's manual for the Asteroids Deluxe Cabaret available, which has parts diagrams that should be helpful.
A cabaret will take less material to build, though I woundn't go as far as saying building one would be any easier than a full upright. It'd be the same amount of work, though there are some different challenges involved.

I made a rough measured drawing of a Cenitpede Cab-O-ray at the last SuperAuctions I was at. Got some pics of it also. I would love to build one sometime unless I can find a junker somewhere and restore it.
I can send you my pics and my rough measurements if you want.
