MaLa has no sound now? *** FIXED ***

Ok a quick run down of what I did.

1. Got MaLa setup and running great! Love it!

2. Wanted Hi Scores back.

3. Looked and found documentation on how to put hi scores back.

4. Saved a copy of all old files in separate folder.

5. Re-compiled mame with hi score.diff file.

6. Mame didn't work after recompiling.

7. Copied backed up files back to mame folder after deleting new files.

Now I have no sound in MaLa. The sound still works fine if I play games in MameWah which I still have installed.

Any suggestions? I've looked in ini files for anything but haven't found anything helpful yet.

I would eliminate a few things:

Set-up another MaLa (basic) with another version of mame in a seperate folder.  Just a couple of roms and mame. That should only take you 5 mins

That will at least tell you if your other set-up has a problem or it is a bigger issue.

Then we can go from there...

Thanks for your help. I got it working again. I deleted it and reinstalled it. Now the sound works. I don't know what happened to it. Thanks again.
