| Williams Switching Power Supply Question |
| (1/1) |
| FrizzleFried:
This is likely a pretty stupid question, but I feel it's always better SAFE than SORRY.... I just received a Williams Switching Power Supply conversion kit from Arcadeshop to go in to my Joust. The instructions say "Locate the two wired feeding A.C. power to the monitor. At a convenience spot, tap the two blue wires connected to the new power supply". That all it says about the power input. One wire goes to AC/N and the other to AC/L. Does it matter which wire I "tap" in to for each or either can be tapped in to either of the monitor power lines? Am I correct in assuming one means AC Neutral and the other AC Line? Not sure... again, better safe than sorry. |

ac/n=neutral ac/l=live i think u.s wiring is black/white/green u.k wiring is brown/blue/yellow-green which is live/neutral/earth so i am sure you know which is live and which is neutral out of black and white as you live in the states ;) |
| FrizzleFried:
Both wires hooked to the monitor power are PURPLE with yellow stripes. BOTH. The monitor itself has two black wires coming off, one with a stripe. Is the stripe side line or neutral? |
| FrizzleFried:
Just talked to arcadeshop...they told me it doesn't matter which way I hook it up...but i'd still like to try to get it Line to Line and Neutral to Neutral. |

i never really bothered that much what way round a/c goes, certainly after a transformer as its not important-don't worry about it |
