I don't get it
ChadTower:
How does this NOT result in the guy with the camera (the kid's father) dropping the camera and stomping this crazy guy out? He stands and watches someone throw his son "5, 10 feet in the air" and keeps filming it? :dunno
MustardTent:
Saw that on the news this morning -- happened in suburban Chicago. The parent filming that was not only the airborne kid's father, but also a wrestler. People are glad he held back -- actually shows that some parents of children in athletics can show some restraint.
The doctor of the losing child said he's lucky his father broke up the match when he did. His arm was in a nasty position that could've resulted in some serious damage (this comes from their lawyer).
After he was escorted out, they finished the match.
ChadTower:
The report here says that the match was already stopped and that the kid just didn't get off the exact split second the whistle blew (as usually happens).
Either way, a man attacks child, and people are glad no one stopped the man. That's what it has come down to I guess. I would not have stood there and tolerated that.
Arm in bad position or not, what that guy did should be criminally prosecuted. Don't listen to his lawyer for even a second.
Crax:
I read the article as well, is there a youtube video or anything of it? Possibly, the dad filming just thought the other guy was going down there to get his own son and by the time he realized what happened a bunch of other people had already jumped in and stopped the situation from escalating.

Yeah, I wrestled for a while -- it's not realistic to expect complete disentanglement at the instant the whistle blows. I didn't know this was after the match was stopped (I'm guessing a point was awarded or something), they just said the father jumped in when his son was pinned. They did explicitly state that the match continued afterwards, though. I'm guessing these discrepancies are either due to quick-to-tv soft-facts, or just that I was in the process of waking up when I saw this.
Also, I heard that charges weren't made yet, but still possible.
