Why 49 way joysticks?
steveh:
i would assume the same rings true for other analog emulators like ps1 for example.
RandyT:
Don't forget that on top of the 49-way's digital restriction modes (the first stick ever to be offered with such capability, BTW) there is also the feel that very closely resembles the classic WICO balltop sticks. The Midway 49-ways used a rubber grommet centering device, so the feel is like no other stick currently on the market. But you might wish to stay clear of the HAPP variety unless the grommet has been replaced.
A stick has to feel good in your hand before you worry about what else it can do, and the 49-ways are, IMHO, unmatched in this regard.

hmmm, I've never play sinistar. Maybe I better stay away from it so I won't have to go buying new 49 way joysticks...
