| Help bottom mounting an Ultrastik 360? |
| (1/1) |
| Dmod:
I just received my bat-handle Ultrastik 360s and I'm getting ready to drill/route my CP. I'd like to bottom mount the Ultrastiks, and use machine screws from the top. I also want to countersink the machine screws and putty over them so they won't be visible. My CP is 5/8". Do I need to route the bottom of the CP to raise the height of the joystick handles? If so, how much should I take out. And what about countersinking the machine screws? I'm afraid of taking out too much material. Thanks in advance for any advice. |

Some of it will depend on whether or not you bought the longer joystick shafts. I have the longer ones and bottom mounted and did not have to route any material out -- then again I am using balltops, not bat as you state you are. |

It looks like the oval (bat) handles are already 3/8" longer than the ball handles. Any idea if this reduces the need for the longer shaft? I suppose I could just mount them with countersinking but no routing, and then purchase the longer shafts if needed. |

That will tell you if you need to route it or not. Best Regards, Julian (Fozzy The Bear) |

It seems like the Ultrastik 360 needs to be higher on my CP. Using 5/8" MDF, there's only about 3/8" between the CP and the bottom of the oval handle. So my question now is... how much higher should it be? If it only needs to go another 1/8"-1/4", I might be able to route the back of the CP. I can get it up another 3/8" if I order the longer shafts from Ultimarc. |
