Look into IT support in the school industry. That's what I do (Network Manager) -- I recently hired a 50+ year old doing tech support at roughly 35-40k a year with school system benefits. I hired him because he had basic computer skills, and a good solid work ethic. His age was actually a bonus as we were wanting some stability.

I wish I could believe that it's the right field, wrong location - but I've lost a lot of my confidence as a result of all this.   Part of me still does feel that way, but without sounding too "poor me tonight",  :censored: I'm tired of being kicked around by education.

Mr. C - I'm just so stupified by this whole thing that I cannot even think of what an I.T. person does.  Maybe tomorrow the abbrev will make sense and I can look into it.

BTW, I didn't really expect to find much in the arcade industry...just thought it'd be an interesting question to ask.

In his defense the 'fro is gone, so at least he looks respectable. ;D

RTSDaddy2:
Amazingly enough, I got sleep last night - figured I'd be up all night tossing and turning....not even any bad dreams about losing house, wife, kid, etc. for inability to support them....wow....that's so atypical of my brain to leave me alone.  Maybe it IS a blessing.... :)

On the plus side, ironically enough, there is a music group through which I could set my own schedule and offer private piano / voice lessons.  Waiting as patiently as I can to hear from them today.

Also have had a CRAZY thought about pursuing a volleyball coaching position at our local rec center.  Talk about a sweet commute....it'd take me 5 minutes to walk to work!  :D

More soon - thanks guys for the input - I haven't ruled out ANY job yet!

Edit: Wife says walk is more like 11 minutes - but she's forgetting she's traveling with our 4 year old!  :laugh2:
