Heh, that can't be further from the truth.

I beat Resident Evil 4 last night. Kick ass game for sure! As for replayability, it lets you keep all of your weapons, powerups, money and lets you start from the beginning again. I cleared what took me about 2 hours the first time in 15 minutes. Damn, that was satisfying. Now I feel obligated to play thru again. Only $910,000 more to get the unlimited Rocket Launcher. >:D

All I can say is Gears of War is awesome.  Single player, co-op, and especially online.

I also have a PSP and love Loco Roco, Burnout Legends, Dungeon Siege, Virtua Tennis and a few others.....

But GoW..... :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

I'm not too crazy about the trend of online gaming.  Not that playing online is bad, but when only 1/3 of the experience is in single player (I think Cliffy said that as Co-Op and Deathmatch are the other 2/3 of the game), it lets down the people who aren't online.

Maybe I'm alone here, but I prefer to play multiplayer with my buddies right next to me.  That's how it always was in arcades, and thru all but the latest in consoles.

As to the games themselves, Old school was a lot more instantly accessible.  You don't have to practice for 20 minutes just to learn the basic controls to play Robotron or Tempest and have fun.  It's not that games today are less fun, but most are a lot less approachable.
ChadTower:

That's the thing with the older games.  Easy to learn, hard to master.  Newer games, for me anyway, are hard to learn and easy to master.  As in once you finally master the control scheme, the control scheme itself was harder than the game turns out to be in the end.
