To the people that are old school and purests, they desire their cabinets to be as authentic looking and sounding as possible. From what I've read that seems to be the main reason.

Unholyknight,
Besides being silent.. the main reason is smoothness and quicker reaction times.
A microswitch has a mechanical lever that has to travel a bit further to activate
than a typical leaf that is adjusted properly... thus it had slower reaction times.
Also micro requires more pressure to activate... so causes more fatigue,
and again, slows down the responce time.
The differences show up very good in games which you need lightniong fast reflexes such as
Robotron.. or for games where you have to Fire rapidly like Asteroids.
Compare clicks per few seconds: micros -vs- leafs.. and you will see a much greater
total from the leafs.
Note: Just make sure to realize that you dont have to push the leaf buttons
fully down. Instead, you can bounce the thing maybe less than half way
thru its travel and it registers.. and you can rebounce again and again within like
a millimeter or less distance in a high speed repeating motion.
A micro takes like 3 or more milimeters to activate, and disengauge.
Leaf downfalls are that they can get bent out of shape and need
adjusting. They also need thier contacts cleaned every so often.
Accurate Diagnols can be a bit troublesome with certain games
using leafs. (Such as moden fighters).

Thanks Texasmame - I'm glad he has them - weird though, he told me he did not. Maybe I didn't phrase it the right way.
Or could be I had to ask 3 times, I hate get asked the same question 3 times. Unless you start a new line of questions.
