Rotating panel cabinet really coming along!
<< < (2/4) > >>
Dave_K.:
Ok, are those Teleporter sliders (from the original Star Trek series) in the upper right hand corner!?  ;D  Looks really cool!
Frostillicus:
Thanks for the kind words everyone :)

CitzFish: Yeah it's like 1UP's, with the 3 panels.  I just changed some of the measurements and I'm using 3/4" for everything.   The cabinet profile looks a little different (on paper anyways), and the rotating structure is different.  I salute him for a great design.

Snaaake: You're right - I made it so I could 1) build it easily in my apartment and 2) easier to move around.

Dave_K.:   How did you guess?  ;) j/k my geekness doesn't extend quite that far.  I'm more of a SW fan myself....
X-0:
about that Battlezone/rotary panel...

I like the design, it seems very efficient and might work for me.  I didn't read through anything yet, but I'm assuming the rotaries are LS-30s...how does that setup work for two-sticks-per-player games (Robotron, Smash TV)?  Since I'm planning to do a 4-player setup on one panel, I probably won't have to worry about it, but, well, you know....
Ghoul:
Would it be possible for you to take another picture of the SF CP art at a more direct angle? On the website it looks like you were trying to show the translation from the 3d to real life by using the same angle.

It looks like the colors are a little washed out and I was wondering if it was the art or the light/viewpoint, or something you had done on purpose, is this a downside to the material you used?

I took it with my 35mm camera w/flash (I don't have a dig cam) and the colors got a little washed out in the pic.  However, the colors on all the overlays are very bright and vibrant - they are very close to the original RGB, but of course will never be the same since they were printed CMYK.

X-O:  Yeah they are LS-30's - very nice little sticks.  They don't have as much throw as, say, comps or supers, but they are fine for most things.  They hit the diagonals well - I just would'nt recommend them for fighting games.
