| Using P360's for 4-way and 8-way |

For those of you who are using, or wanting to use, only P360s in your panel, this can be done. At least in older versions of Mame (in this case .104) selecting the desired direction, the pressing twice in each undesired direction, will result in UP NOT LEFT NOT RIGHT. This appears to only be compatible with non-micro-switch/round restrictor sticks, as with standard, 8-way restrictor sticks, one will get stuck in the diagonals during game play. However, for diagonal movement, all that's needed is to select the diagonals, which do work with optical, etc, and normal sticks and are surprisingly accurate and responsive. |

Thanks for the tip. This actually works for more than just P360s. I was finally able to play Assault with my 2 8-way topfires without getting stuck all the time. |

You either have diagonals that activate and cause the game to have unwanted effects or you have dead zones. 4 ways just aren't right unless they are physically restricted. |

Yeah, the game messes up when the diagonals are hit. But applying this trick to the left and right directions of each stick only made it 100 times better (still not as good as a restricted stick as you mentioned). |
