You'll probably need to take it to a VW dealer to have them change the cluster to miles from KM. If you do it yourself then it's automatically TMU. If it doesn't have a title then you can get one from the DMV. They usually want a bill of sale from the previous owner. You may need them to create one saying you paid a dollar for it. If they don't ask for that then they may considered it an abandoned vehicle and issue you a title. It will show it was an abandoned vehicle, but since the car is older it doesn't really matter. |

Unless someone still owes taxes on it, at which point they will not transfer the title away from whomever still actually holds it. Even if it's as little as a couple of bucks. |

Why is he changing the cluster (Canadian cars have both miles and kms) ? Where is the car physically ? Bringing it across the border might be a pain. Cheers. |

I wouldn't have to change the cluster, you are right. The car is in New Eqypt, New Jersey, about 15 miles from where I live. |
