In that case the Nissan 350Z is also a skyline.

Not really. The Z is on the same platform and powertrain, but the Japanese Skyline literally IS the G35 with a "SKYLINE" where "G35" is on the G. Same exact car, save for safety feature differences for JP/US.
The G35 and Z are sister cars, but they aren't identical.

Ah, I figured you meant the Skyline and G35 were just the same platform, I didn't realize they had the same exact interior and body styling.

I know little about cars like that... I figured you were talking about the burned out junker he brought in on a flatbed to take the place of the green car he lost and then the Chinese guys destroyed before the bald guy "took possession of it".
--- End quote ---
The burned out junker was a supra turbo with a 2JZ-GTE engine IIRC...the skyline was owned by a different member of the club...or whatever.
that movie sucked
--- End quote ---
No, I am talking about the second movie. There is an intro montage to the movie that shows the lead guy racing his way across the country. At one point, he see's a Nissan Skyline half covered by a tarp, with about 50 years of rust covering the whole car. He hands the junker guy a wad of cash, then he fixes the car up. Finally, you see him drive up to the opening race in his 200,000+ Grey Skyline.
--- End quote ---
ah my bad...I don't think I actually watched the second one...just started it and turned it off. Oddly, I actually kinda enjoyed the one in tokyo......(lots of eyecandy >:D )
The junker in the first movie was def a supra though...I think the stole the engine and stuck it in a diff car or something.....
Oh, and :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: at being able to find a "junker" import skyline to resto like that.....
and PDB is correct to a point re: G35 / Skyline...the JP Skyline has the "same" engine however, but it is tuned very differently....and IIRC the JP version is available as a 4door only, whereas the US G35 Coupe is only 2 door....
go figure

They both use the VQ series engine IIRC, but yes they are tuned differently. It's not a massive differenece in hp though if I remember.
There's a coupe and a sedan version in JP, just like the G35 here in the states.

The "reported" HP is very similar, but the actual HP of the JP version is much higher....
you are correct, there is a coupe and sedean version of the V35 skyline (and g35)....I was thinking of the next gen car. Too bad the skyline has gone "soft" -> no GT-R version....
