| MDF or plywood to support 27" monitor?? |

I am almost ready to make the top for my 27" cocktail table. I am going to cut 2x4s and mount them to the top for proper spacing and support. My question is what is better or stronger to use, 3/4 MDF or 3/4 plywood? I will be gluing a 1/4" sheet to the top for a total of 1" but the 1/4 isn't really going to support anything. |

I would vote for the Plywood but do not have any data to support my claim. MDF just seems to warp over time when holding up heavy stuff like monitors. |

Either will work fine as long as the shelf is well supported. But I'd go with the ply because it's lighter. |

Ply will also be more structurally sound Xam |

I'd also go with the plywood. |
