Though I did like The Village's ending...

I tried to watch Lady in the Water the other night. I went to sleep about 1/2 an hour into it. Wow it was friggin horrible. The wife watched it and gave me the rundown. I am very glad I went to sleep.
The village sucked too IMO. I guessed the whole plot like 20 minutes into it. My wife said I was full of it, so I wrote it all down and let her read it after the movie was done. Needless to say, I won the bet.
Sixth Sense was great, Signs was acceptible, the rest of his movies suck big time.

thats funny, i thought the village was quite acceptable but SIGNS blew. was just like a 50s sci fi to me. the day the earth stood still or something...

If you get through Lady in the Water, you can see that M Knight Shamalamadingdong is nuts. He's so full of himself. There is this big story that the studios tried to reign the film in but he thought it was the greatest thing ever and wouldn't change a thing.
I watched it for Paul Giamati thinking it would have some redeeming quality. Howard Stern asks actors if they know that a particular movie they are filming sucks while they are filming it. Most of them say no because the movies are shot out of sequence and they are giving it there all as an actor. Then to go see the mess in theater, must be a real shock.

I remember seeing William H. Macy interviewed after Jurassic Park 3 came out and they asked him what it was like making that movie. He said something along the lines of "It was a 50 million dollar ship without a rudder" because they were making up the story as they made the movie.
