Why we don't have general media interface terminals everywhere, yet...... |

Just put a 17" touchscreen in a bartop cab that I just completed for a friend. Not a whole lot of usefulness in mame but for pc games it is fantastic. Many popcap and reflexive arcade games worked very well, casino games are just fantastic! The Masque and Phantom EFX reel deal series are very nice. Most of the slots these days are touch screen so it works the same as in the casino, video poker got a lot of play also. Puzzle games are very well suited for this as well. Really most mouse only games work well on a touchscreen and pc games are not that difficult to add to a front end like Mala or Mamewah (I mention these because they are the two that I have used). Maybe Jim will pipe in here on this issue since he is the guy who I built the cab for and he cruises this board all of the time. The cab also does double duty as a jukebox and as you know the touch screen is very nice for that. |

Yeah, I could see casino games as being really addictive with one of those. Great, one more thing on the to do list. |

Make a bar top touch screen for games. Pleanty of games out there and it gives you a reason to build a bar in the game room. |

Circo almost lost an eye putting a touch screen into my bartop. He sort of looked like this: ;) I keep telling him to post the pictures, or make a thread based on cabinet injuries. He ended up getting safety goggles for X-mas. Back to the topic. I found that the touch screen adds a lot to my machine. For the first time there are games that my wife will actually play. The touch screen also gives some games an extra kick. The great thing about a touch screen, you can add games to your cabinet that would not be put on a regular cabinet. I actually like my bartop better than my fullsize. Here is a partial list of some fun games. The best thing, you can demo these from the Reflexive site to see if you like them. The address is: http://www.reflexive.com/ These are matching type games: Bejeweled 2 Chuzzle Madcaps Chainz Combo Chaos Balloon Blast Casino Games and Card Games These are my favorite type, they play like you're at a casino, but you do need a keyboard on some to enter how much you want to spend at the beginning. Video slots- (Real Deal made by Phantom- or Slots from Bally Gaming) Video poker- Video Blackjack- I play either Real Deal Casino, or Casino Island. Solitaire- These games are just more fun when using a touch screen. Trivia type games: Trivia Machine- found on the Reflexive sight. Trivia Net Challenge- Haven't tried it yet, but it seems like it would work. Trivial Pursuit- Haven't tried these yet either. You Don't Know Jack- I haven't tried this one on the machine yet, but Circo is coming over Friday and we'll give it a tryout. Word, matching, and Misc. type games: Spin and win Slingo Puzzle Word Mirror Magic- I like this one. You have two pictures that look identical. You must find 5 or 6 things that are different. You just touch the different items. Flip Words Mahjong games- Like solitaire, these games get a little kick when playing. Not everybody likes tile matching games. Super Mahjong and Mahjong towers are fun. Anyways, this is a start. My next project is going to add a touch screen jukebox to it. I'm not an audiophile, but I do think it will be a great feature. |
