The guy is beyond dumb. He was willingly handing over his social security # and other personal info to someone who is obviously a hacker (since that was what he wanted them for). If he didn't get outed, he would have gotten his identity stolen and bank account wiped out. |

It's possible he did and is just too embarrassed/afraid to report it. Reporting it would likely implicate him in the crimes he attempted to contract. |

Fired isn't the same as going to the Police and saying "I tried to hire a criminal to commit a crime and he stole my money." Since they were misleading him and not actually going to commit the crime, I wonder if he can still potentially be charged with a sort of solicitation crime. |
