Minipac keeps timing out - can't program it!!

I seriously, urgently need some quick help!!!!

I've just had two PS/2 Minipacs from Ultimarc. I set one up on one machine, then programmed it using the iPac utitlity program, so that the buttons are mapped to keys I prefer (like tab, Enter etc.).

This worked fine on my other machines, but for some reason, this one refuses to program!

I've upped the timeout period to ten seconds, as I found sometimes the other machines timed out and only worked at around 6 or 7 seconds, but this one just refuses to work. Anything I can do?

It's a shot in the dark, but try this:

1) Go into Device Manager in windows, and Uninstall ALL of your USB ports (Do not worry, they will all re-install on their own on next boot)

2) After doing the above step, then download this and double click on it.

When my I-pac4 would give out, I would do that procedure.

Goodluck.

Will that work though? My ipac is the PS/2 (keyboard socket) version, not the USB version.

No, I highly doubt Postalp123's suggestion will help if it is a ps/2 connection.

However, I would advise you to check and make sure that you have the ps/2 cord in the right sockect on the mini pac and in the correct socket on the motherboard.  ( Don't use the Mouse PS/2 slot on the motherboard. ) Then re-boot the pc.

Yes, I know, very simple suggestions that you have probably already checked.  But if you plugged either end of the ps/2 cable in incorrectly, it won't work. Then again, it wouldn't work period.

Just as it is,

(Smacks Forehead) Sorry, didn't see the PS2 reference, it was late when I read that last night.
