What is a JAMMA Cabinet

I've been reading a lot about people saying they are using a JAMMA cabinet, etc., etc..  This may sound a bit stupid, but what exactly is a JAMMA cabinet

Think about it this way...A Computer with an IDE controller this equals the CABINET and games are the IDE Hard Drives...Sya you have 10 IDE HARD DRIVES GAMES) you can just change the hard drive and of you go. So if you pull out that hard drive, you can put another IDE Hard Drive in there and everything stays the same (the keyboard, mouse etc = controllers).
So a JAMMA game can always be put in a JAMMA ready cabinet. JAMMA stands for Japanese Amusement Machine ....something like that...

In short, to put a JAMMA game into a JAMMA cabinet - all you need to do is plug it into a harness and you're good to go.  With Non-JAMMA cabinets, you might have to do wiring and stuff like that.  Same thing for changing games - just take the old one out and plug the new one in.

Yeah, you will see alot of cabinets on ebay where the game in the cabinet is not the game that originally was in that cabinet.

Like by me I found a tempest cab with arkanoid in it.
