Competition joysticks

Like many of you, when I first built my cabinet, I decided on Happs Super joysticks and then never gave it a second thought.  Well, I noticed Bob Roberts was selling competition joysticks on his site for 7.50 a peice.  I thought I'd give them a try.

For an 8-way stick, these are perhaps the nicest sticks I've ever used, super acurate and responsive.  The thinner bat takes a little getting used to but I'm glad I swithed them out.  It's easier to find the diagonals because of the square actuator and 4-way games like crazy climber are much easier to play.  I do keep a dedicated 4-way (wico) for the classics but for fighters these are hard to beat.

Thought I'd share

If you like the Competition sticks but prefer the Super bat handle, then just swap the handles.  The shafts are the same size - you get the best of both sticks. ;D

Oh great, i just  ordered 4 supers for the four player panel im working on  lol.   Now i hear a rumble that the competition sticks might be better........DOH........  Did i make a mistake???? ???

heheh

Supers are nice too, I'm just saying if you do a lot of fighting games the competitions seem to do better.  The square actuator floats so I think you can still pull off those round house moves.

Yep, Happ comps and fighting games go together like pizza and beer. Same goes for Wico leaf switch joysticks for the classics.
