carbon monoxide in house

squirrellydw:

I have some carbon monoxide inside the house, pretty sure it's coming from the furnace.  Any idea what might be causing it?

ChadTower:

Backup.  Your chimney and/or one of the exhaust pipes is clogged.  That's my guess.

I wonder if Dan Tanner had that problem on Vega$?

J_K_M_A_N:

It could also be a cracked heat exchanger. That is somewhat common in older furnaces. You may want to have it checked out by a professional.

BTW, way to make a joke on a possibly deadly situation lloyd. Quite funny.

ChadTower:

If you can't solve it definitively yourself have a pro do it.  Don't go to sleep without knowing it is solved.  At the very least buy a couple of carbon monoxide detectors and put them where people sleep.
