The foot of the cab may be a bit small unless you are using an LCD screen. Even with an LCD it could tip of someone is slamming the joystick around. I would suggest widening out the base or screwing it to the wall. Anyone is welcome to shoot me down on this I just call it as I see it. As far as locating a gutted cab check your yellow pages for Arcade/Amusement or check with the local bars and see who services their machines. I plan on asking my brother-in-law, he runs a bar-n-grill and rents his machines, pool tables and juke box so I might score an old cab some time down the road. TTFN  Kaytrim |

Craigslist has quite a stock, but most were posted awhile ago. A Double Dragon machine for 200, Mortal Combat for 150, Hopefully I can get one of them, 2 of my favorite games. |

My MAME cab button layout is exactly like the X-Arcade (because it IS an Xarcade) and the layout is perfect for everything. I was going to build my own cabinet, but I did the math and for me it was cheaper to get a gutted cab local (and slightly less of a hassle). best of luck with it all and I cant wait to see some pictures of the work in progress --- End quote --- I staggered the buttons for my desktop cp, and it works perfectly for that - mainly because my hand lays flat on the cp. In arcades, your hand is ususally arched, which indeed would probably be better with the straight two rows. |
