| Volume control hack |

I was watching TechTV the other night and they demonstrated a hack to control a PCs volume with external hardware. If you have a Sound Blaster Live, you can essentially wire two buttons directly to a header on the board for volume up and down. Here's the link: http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/howto/story/0,24330,3422185,00.html Not sure if this has been covered here already, but I haven't come across it before. |

Wow, that could really be useful. |

soundblaster live value cards lack the headers, but they have the spot for the headers on the pcb (cheap ---daisies---, its probably close to .0005 cent per card). anyways, i was able to set my live value card up for this without too much trouble (just soldered a header onto it) |

What that article failed to mention is that if you hit both of the buttons at the same time it will mute/unmute the audio |
