Mala "all games" list not finding half my roms!

Ok, I'm having problems with Mala.  When I install it and refresh my main game list, it doesn't find half of my roms.  I have amostly complete Mame 0.110 set and Mala only lists like 2500 or my nearly 5000 roms.  When I check "Only games with roms" in Mala, this gets bumped down to like 1500 and when I check "Only working games" it drops to 799!   I know the roms are there and they show up and work in Mamewah.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Oh, I'm using Mala 1.0 RC8.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Hmm, did a test here with MAME 0.110 and MaLa RC8 collects 6283 roms overall without any collection options activated. If you enable the debug log on the help tab in the options dialog you can watch the rom collection process of MaLa. Maybe this helps and you can find a hint in the log.

Or try to recreate the MAME XML file. There was another user which I have sent my XML file and  with this file it worked for him. The file size of my MAME XML file is 26.236KB. Do you have games from A to Z in your MaLa list?

Thanks for the reply swindus.  Yes, the missing roms are random across the alphabet.  I tried to create a new mame.xml file last night and got some weird errors.  I believe my mame.xml file is about 26kb.  I'll have to double check.

does it make a difference if I create the mame.xml file through the command line (mame -listxml) or through Mala with the create button?

I'll try the debug log idea tonight.

swindus, after futher thought, would you be willing to send me your mame.xml file also? Maybe that will do the trick for me too.
