CPU Problem

I just put in a new fan on my CPU because the old wasnt sufficient enough. Well i dont know what it is that Ive done but when i turn the PC power on now the fan comes on as it should but NOTHING else is getting power (keyboard, mouse, etc.) What could it be?

yeah its a new fan plus heatsink

May seem like a silly question but did you put the heatsink on the correct way and use thermal paste?
I've made the mistake in the past of putting the heatsink on incorrectly, it looked correct but burnt the CPU out in a matter of seconds.
Does the numlock light on the keyboard light up?

Nothing at all is lighting up. You know that may be exactly what i did too.
