8-bit zombie is done, it's final resting place is my basement and due to low light these are the best pictures I could come up with. Enjoy!

Wow I like the graphics !!

My first (and currently only) control panel build.  Loosely based on the Tron arcade panel.
First picture is the inspirational photo.
Next is the cad drawing I made.
Wood routing and inlay, followed by final assembly.

Here are a few pics of my plexi tabletop controller.

That is pretty cool... I am sure there would be some who would have loved to see a build thread! Do you have a wide shot of the control panel???

Not sure if I can post this here,
because it's not exactly an arcade control panel,
but here is the pinball controller I've made :

At the moment, it's a bit of ply with the buttons and controller. I hacked it up just to make sure the hardware / software all worked together. Haven't decided on the final layout yet, either.

I'm struggling with MAME on Raspberry Pi, and once I have that sorted, I'll start a more respectable console. Probably just a box to set on my lap with a power cord and an HDMI output for the TV.

Happ Perfect 360 Joysticks
Ultimarc GoldLeaf pushbuttons
Ultimarc 3" UTrak Trackball
SlikStik Tornado Spinner
IPac2

Some AMAZING control panels here!!!!

Not sure if I ever posted the control panel from my ARTIFACT Game Museum cab... Here we go!

Thanks to all in the community who helped me back in the day in 2007 when I was planning and building it.
I miss it..... Maybe I should build another project.......

What are the dimensions of your CPs?  I will be using almost the same exact controls and layout.  Looking to fit mine on a 23"x13" panel, but not sure if it will fit.  Both of yours look close, though.

(two players, 6 buttons each, trackball, spinner, and some admin/coin/start buttons)

My Dream Machine CP is 26" x 15". But it has a bit of an overhang on the edges. Actual interior dimension would be like 24" wide. Hope this helps.

Hi, I recently joined the forum because after years of hassitation I finally started building my own bar top arcade.
It started after a friend of mine wanted to build his own arcade and asked me if I would help him with it.
To get him started we bought a cheap 2nd hand cabinet. He then bought a flat pack that we are currently assembling.

I didn’t want to go the pre-build route and started to build the cabinet myself.
I started with the control panel so I can alter the dimensions of the cabinet so it will fit the control panel perfect.
Also, now I can play without having the cabinet fully build. Since that will take a while.
I used a 1mm sheet of aluminum that I bend building my own bending bench from some wood and hinges.
This was because I accidentally ordered snap in buttons.
Used 15 mm mdf to support the alloy.

I really like this, and have been thinking about something similar.  I like the idea of being able to move the control panel around independently of a standalone stand-up arcade given my circumstances (and for practice).

I have a couple questions -
What are the buttons on the front?
Can you speak to the built-in speakers?
Is this wireless?

Very nice work.

Very nice work.

Buttons on the front are actually speaker amplifier. I control speaker with it.
Currently I am using raspberry pi 3 as an engine for arcade control. I made it in such a way, that I can use it also to control external PC if needed. In the back I have a switch which controls
what my internal USB hub controls. In the back I have a connector for external USB which can be connected to the PC. If i want independent behaviour then I just switch in the back to control
internal raspberry pi.

Control panel is stored in a special place in the living room, when not in use.

I use internal speaker exclusively as even that HDMI audio is an option. I just prefer it more and i have control over loudness at the tip of the finger.

Also I made a separate stand for external monitor. At my work i got an old (broken !!!!) monitor. I found out, that only control panel was broken so I ordered control panel for monitor panel from China and made
enclosure for the panel so everything is now wood. It really looks cool and I use it when my main 55 inch TV is not available. This is also the reason I built in the speakers as monitor did not have any
audio capabilities.

For network capabilities I currently use network cable, which is connected in the back in special passthrough network connector. I probably could use wireless capabilities of the raspberry pi, but I did not try this feature.

In the future I will replace raspberry pi with more powerful mini PC. Currently I have my eyes set to HADES CANYON NUC from intel, as its measurement fit perfectly for the space I have inside arcade control panel.
Arcade control panel can be opened from the front and is using some magnets to keep it shut. I made special handles for carrying control panel around the house.

The whole control panel took me about 3 month. I did everything from woodworking to installation and programming. I am just geek about this things. If you look at the picture you could see control panel sitting on little
coffee table which I made and is made from the same material I used for control panel. Unfortunately I did not do any documentation about process of building this stuff, but I am open to discuss it.

Built mine to share with co-workers and add some fun to the work enviornment (I play enough games at home on my own...)
This was made probably ... 3ish years ago, and I'm finally deciding to post something about it.

Few bits of info:
iL on left, Sanwa on right from ParadiseArcade
Several parts from Andy at Ultimarc including the PCB, trackball, 4way stick, and spinner
Neutrik USB Passthroughs on front for connecting wired USB controllers, and USB Hub goes to another Neutrik that goes to the PC
Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers
Monitor is on a two arm monitor mount that I removed the other monitor hing, did this to allow the monitor to be rotated for vertical games
XBox 360 wireless controllers for modern games that don't play well with joysticks

All going to a PC running Windows 7 with a highly customized, very manual Hyperspin using lots of AutoHotkey scripts
Curated Pulled together, sifted through, and selected for presentation (https://www.dictionary.com/browse/curated) the list of games down to about 2k games, to prevent tedioius list scrolling of games NO ONE will ever play...
Includes all the regulars like MAME and Retroarch stuff, and has Steam games as well

Well that makes sense, sure.
It did take work, and I suppose it could be construed as funny for one to put effort into something like that.
As funny as someone putting effort into any of this stuff could be, as it's all frivolity and pointless in the end I suppose.

I'm not sure what that has to do with my use of the word curate, however.  My initial response to your post was wondering what you found funny, and you didn't state what you just said, but instead chose to point at my use of a word.  To that end, if one were to be pedantic, one could say my use of the word wasn't, entirely, idiomatically correct.  But when did forums about posting pictures of arcade cabinets become grammar or vocabulary quizzes?

Let me step in to explain the joke.  2000 is still a rather large number of games. Combined with "curating down" (as, we have taken it to mean, narrowing down), it came off as humorously ironic (which may or may not be the proper use of the word but whatever)   That's what the joke was.

Okay, back to my lurking corner.  Carry on with the panel porn.

Your definition of curated amuses me.

I'm with you.

With him how?  In what way?  For what reason?

I'm not 100% sure English is your first language (not faulting you either way, god knows my English is far from great and it's the only language I know!), but "curated" probably isn't the best word to use here, in fact it could be considered to be the opposite of what you intended.  "Curated" is usually used to refer to selectively acquiring something, not selecting a small subset of a great collection (aka losing something).  The better would would be "narrowed".  IE. "Narrowed the list of games down to about 2k games".  For that reason "Curated down" really makes no sense.
