I'd like to know your opinion on the setup a year from now, for sure.  Very unconventional, but I love the artwork on your control panel!

The theme is blue, yellow, and black with a large Blanka mascot on the side art, so the lightning ties in well.  I might trade the light blue ball tops for yellow, but I'm happy with how it looks so far!

I tweaked the font to match the Flynn's arcade cabinet I saw in Disneyland...

Dude, yer killin' me!  I used the same artwork (modified of course), but I could never find the right font, otherwise I'd have made mine a genuine SPACE PARANOIDS too!  Oh well, too late now.  :'(

Check out my attempt here:

Maybe they are located on the bottom / inside or hidden beneath the artwork / plexi. Lookup insert nuts and t-nuts.

Hi Guys,

Here is my updated CP you can see the difference from the original CP I built about 8 years ago.  I did design a lovely Street Fighter overlay for it but never managed to get it printed :( so wish I did.  However the clean black look is pretty sleek.  I also replaced a number of buttons with LED that are shown in the final image.  Hope you like.

The builders either used these (or similar) insert nuts on the underside of the CP . . .

or "tee nuts"/"t-nuts" countersunk into the top.

Here's my Arcade Classics bartop:

And this is the cab I built in 2003. Its a metal panel on a full sized "bartop". I ended up making a stand for the cabinet so now it's really full sized:

I'm more then willing to help anyone out if they need it or have any question. I'm posting a few pics. This is my REDS/COLTS Arcade Machine and my Purdue Cabinet I built for a friend.

Here is my Harley and Reds Cabinet that I'm working on now. This new style has a LED lighted front. The HARLEY DAVIDSON and CINCINNATI REDS on the front is lighted with orange and white plexiglass behind the letters. Please feel free to ask any questions or you want more pictures of these cabinets or more cabinets I have built!!

I gotta admit my first reaction....

That is a lot of buttons. Not trying to pick or anything but I just couldn't figure out what they could all be for. Looks like they're labeled. You got a closer pic to show what the labels are?

Machine will play Nintendo 64 games. The buttons match a 64 controller exactly. The other cabinets I changed to fewer buttons and then just put USB connection on the front to plug those controllers in. I know OMG... but it made sense at the time back 4 years ago

Louis Tully - I notice your last pic is "Positron" and "Electron" - is this a reference to Acorn Electron? If so, do you have any Electron games within your cabinet? I tried to include it but it became very problematic!

Oh well, thanks for the reply. The Acorn Electron is an 8 bit computer from the 80's. It was my first system and I guess the main reason why I'm here now. Some games, such as Elite, Croaker (a frogger clone). Positron (space invaders) and Daredevil Denis would be great on a cabinet.

However, it's not such a well known system and the emulators there are for it are old and (I believe) not in development anymore. Making them cabinet-friendly has not been a total success. Just one of the many problems we face here :-)

I'm sure you are right on the original machine. However maybe because of the height of my CP (or my height), if it were at a greater angle it would be painful on the wrists to reach the fully up position. I suspect kids would have the opposite problem, but kids won't be playing on it...

First Post.  Lurked about 2 years ago while building stuff.  Now starting to get back into it, with my second board for my machine.  Here is my self made control panel, bought the overlays online.  pretty happy with the result.  Previous owner made a crappy CP that was WAY to scrunched together, so you couldn't play 2 person without holding hands.
