Thought I would post mine.  Layout is basic and everything I need.  Mostly NeoGeo games and Street Fighter 4.  I know the over lay is played out but for now it stays until I get around to designing my own.  For only $55 to have it printed and shipped, I may just change it monthly  :lol

I redid mine. It was formerly The Grid (back on page 13.) It is now call The Machine. Named after my childhood arcade from Crystal Point Mall (RIP) in Crystal Lake, IL. I also added NOS Wico joysticks, clickless buttons, and a 27" Samsung CRT HDTV.

Here is my latest panel.  since i picked up a showcase cabinet and set it up as a 4player horizontal mame setup, i figured my 2 player horizontal mame setup was redundant. so i am converting it to a vertical classics cabinet.  i am trying to do this cheaply....i threw this together last night...

the artwork is from a poster i found at WalMart, it looks pretty good and was only $5, I can always change it later.

x-arcade encoder (wiring is a mess, but i had it lying around)
Sanwa JLW joystick, set to 4way mode
happ pushbuttons
iL translucent light up exit and pause buttons (with novagem inserts from GGG)
Ultimarc U-Trak trackball with RGB lighting kit (currently RED)
OptiWiz trackball interface

9 buttons.  Very simple.  Why 9 buttons?  For N64 support.  That is also a u360 in there.  I could not be happier with the end result!  My one regret is that I wish I color coded button 1.  I still could but it is not a priority.  I like the all black look but still wonder what it would look like if I did something that was not black for buttons.  There is also an admin panel between the CP and monitor that has start/pause/exit and P1/P2 start and coin buttons.

For the curious, that is 0.220" Lexan and 3/4 plywood with some cheap vinyl sandwiched in between.  The vinyl was a cost cutting measure and only cost me about $7.  What I found out several weeks later from a coworker is that you can get some pretty cool textured vinyl for speaker cabinets (for electric and bass guitars).  Live and learn I guess.

Found an old S-cabinet on Craigslist last month for $40, I figured I couldn't pass up a deal like that. I'm an over the road truck driver, so progress will be in spurts here and there.

Control panel removed, gonna start gutting it.

The monitor is hanging by just a few wires, not cool. :/

The bare JAMMA board in all its splendor.

The underside of the control panel.

Man.... I don't even know.

Come on, seriously? Do you SEE what they did to get a joystick?

They hacked one of these up:

Unbelievable.
Man, will my cab EVER be finished?

Wow! Good eye, I hadn't caught that. I just removed the panel, measured it, and set it aside. It's a work in progress, so I'll keep you guys posted.

Here's the panel to my finished dedicated vertical cab, setup for mame and jamma pcb's modelled the shape on tempest.

Using T-Stick plus's so I could easily switch between 4 way and 8 way.

Here's some pics of inside the control panel,

Using leaf switches that pony boy was selling (don't know if he still is) and all wires soldered (prefer to crimp connectors)

The PCB is my DK jr board.

I've added a couple of pics of the Bezel mouting, it's just a piece of 6mm ply sat on a couple of rails in front of the Philips TV I used, I bought this TV because it had a near flat front to the casing which meant I could get a real close fix between the TV and the Bezel, it worked pretty well.

here is my latest panel on my showcase cabinet.  the back side of the plexi is painted, and it came out pretty crappy.  but it is very functional and will work just fine through the winter...when spring comes around, i'll replace the plexi again.

2 sanwa JLW joysticks
2 x-arcade joysticks (will be replaced with two more JLWs after Christmas)
happ pushbuttons
iL translucent exit/pause button
keywiz 40 ST encoder from GroovyGameGear

when spring rolls around, i will replace the ugly plexi, and probably add a Utrak trackball in the center.

Nice placement of the controls relative to the art. I bet the spinner was the only tough one. And I love those curves. How did you get them?

I actually just printed out a template of my art and cut the curves from that using a jig saw.  I didn't want to take the time to make a jig and do it the right way, but it came out well enough for me.

My temporary setup. A control panel scratched together with scrap wood I had lying around.

You can still see the blue mark of the wood and some imperfections, like I said, it was scrap wood, but the panel looks and plays great. I velcroed the front and back of the panel to an old kids dresser and she keeps steady.

That Dell to the left goes to the TV via S-Video. Looks great.

A J-Stick and a U360. You can also see the U-Trak and Slikstik Tornado.

Another U360 and J-Stik.

Ipac 4. I wired the far side first and had to rearrange the wires. The frontside I did second and got it right, looks clean.

I never did get any wire hooks or staples to hold the wires to the wood, but they don't move much and I'll get to it some day.

I kept the rough look of the wood, sanded it with fine sandpaper, stained it and sealed it for a rough yet smooth and shiny look.

Space themed panel with Asteroid's button layout and an added original Frontline spinner.
FrontX panel for usb and headphone jack which mutes main speakers on cab when used.
I used Wilsonart laminate which holds up well on control panel. Its a little busy but I'm not
too good with photoshop to make my own theme.

I just enjoyed looking through the pages and pages of CP pr0n here, so I thought I should contribute and post pics from my two arcades here.  Certainly not the best out there, but for a first attempt I was proud of the first one.   Then for the second one I learned and improved a bit, which is the goal!

I did upgrade to lit up buttons later, but here's the finished control panel before those.  The main thing I learned from this was that I shouldn't have put the exit button above the trackball, and that I don't need dedicated mouse buttons.  Oh, and that I should have recessed my trackball mounting plate!

My custom made exit button that I really like!

Well I had no idea what I was doing the first time, and it showed!   But what can I say, it works.  Some day I will redo this!  I swear!

Here's the finished product to give some perspective.

Here is my second machine I made.  Note there are no buttons on top of the trackball this time!   Some of the artwork looks orange in this picture due to the flash, but in real life the red matches up with the buttons much better.

Just a close up of the custom Tapper logo along the top, along with my labeled few admin buttons.

As you can see, I did a MUCH better job wiring this time!   Still not as good as others I've seen, but not too bad.  Next time maybe I will be even a little bit better!

And then a picture of the second arcade machine to give ya a little perspective on that one.

I've had my cab for 2 years now and just this week the artwork I used for my cab has finally came in.  Right now I only have the control panel covered in vinyl.  My sides are covered with printed xerox paper so I can get a feel of how everything comes together.  I am a fan of the Kentucky Wildcats...and I am a fan of Homer J. Simpson.  So I thought I'd incorporate both ideas into my cab.  It may be cheesey, but it's mine and I have no plans of getting rid of it.

Cool, I have that Homer picture tattooed on my shoulder.
