No artwork but a 2 player panel with trackball and spinner. Built for Mame but also to hook up to my PS2, DC and Saturn.
Cheers Eric

...and from the side:

Glad to see some more Top Fires in play!  That's a lot of controls!  Cool!  I wish I had more friends into gaming so I could build a 4 player panel that would get used.

Here's mine. First control panel, and it's mounted in a very unusual way, but it's comfortable enough and it works. The overlay is actually a funky vinyl aquarium background.

I wish I had a good picture of the CP in action but I am in the progress of re-doing it (removing the plexi). Here is the artwork used. I used visio to make it. Not a bad job if I dont say so myself.

I created the following control panel for my wife's child care facility.

It is made from cut laminate shelving.  The stuff you buy in the Organizer section at Lowe's.  It has a Min-Pac controller, E-Stik joystiks, Happ horizontal buttons, and decals I created with my vinyl cutter.

Handy Desktop controller with USB hub and memory key to hold MAME and a few games.  It uses a GPWiz eco for the interface.  I need to swap out the green stick for blue and put all red buttons in the front.

Welp I've finally put aside some time to show you what I've been up to ... First off, I'd like to give some long over due THANKS to the following people who have helped with this project so far....

Knievel - What can I say but THANKS!  This user/professional has been the inspiration to my InfernoMame project.  If it wasnt for him and his kindness and quick response to questions, I would of given up a long time ago on this project.  Knievel is a HUGE asset to this community.  Thanks Bro!!!!

Scott (Mamemarquees) - Fantastic job on the overlays man!  Great quality work for a great price.  Highly Recommended!!!

Ponyboy - Thanks for the buttons and accessories.  You'll be my first contact for anymore parts.  Highly Recommended!!

Ok so enough of the #$*@-kissing huh .. :) ... Now on with the project.  I have not posted over in the new projects just yet cause I'm just starting off but thought I'd share the Control Pannel here...... I got my inspiration after watching the movie GhostRider, and decided to call my project InfernoMame.  After figuring out my button layout with the help of Knievel, we threw around some pictures and below are the outcomes.  I am using the same CPO design as Knievel uses on his projects.....

Attached are the overlays that Scott did and a picture of the translucent buttons I'm going to use.  I've also attached an example of the overlay that Knievel uses just to show what it will look like finished..... -= Enjoy =-

Recently got back my Futurama themed art for my cab, so I started in earnest on my CP. Since Futurama is a vivid and colourful show, I decided to use every colour of pushbutton available. There's no major theme to the colour placement of the buttons, so it's a bit varied. The inside wiring as well is a little messy, but this was the first CP that I wired myself, so I'm happy with the results.

There is the piano hinge at the back, but yeah, the front is secured with magnets. They're just standard cabinet magnets from Home Depot, but they're pretty damn strong. There's one on each side of the CP, and each one has two magnets in it, so I can lift the CP just by the top panel and the magnets are strong enough to still keep it closed.

Oh, and Mountain, that is some seriously righteous wire-fu you got going on inside your CP. I wish mine could be that clean!

One more to the list... I built this cabinet about 4 years ago and just recently decided to upgrade it to translucent Happ buttons driven by an LED wiz. The back panel buttons have the GGG RGB board installed and the rest I just drilled a hole and put in single color leds. Happ trackball is also now lit by 3 bright whites in a home made bracket...

Hard to believe it's been a year since we "finished" our first cabinet (quotes added for the amusement of anyone who's built one  :) ), and alas, still no website.  Here goes with a truncated summary...

Mostly a LuSiD-based design, with the following controls - Top row:  Oscar Push-Pull spinner, Wico 4-way joystick, Happ Heavy Duty joystick.  Bottom row:  Wico 8-way joysticks, translucent leaf buttons, Happ Hi-ball 3" trackball.  Extra function/admin buttons on sides of box.

Details of note:  All controls designed to be installed/removed/serviced from the bottom so as to not disrupt the artwork.  Dust washers float underneath the artwork.  Button layout is the result of a painstaking analysis of the top 100 classic games and works quite well, believe it or not.  We're still wiring up the button LEDs and working to optimize the ease-of-use.  Will it ever be DONE done?

Jesus...

Maybe some glasses would help you see that he's not done wiring, hell, I don't think a single wire is connected to that keywiz yet.  At least let him finish before you talk smack about his workmanship.

Ha1ex,
Nice work on keeping the themed artwork clean and simple.  Looks like a good project in the works.

Thanks, you are correct.  I just started hooking up wires when I took the picture, so I was a long way from being done.  Once everything is complete I'll take another photo and replace the messy version.  I know I should have just waited......  :banghead:

Here is my desktop box that I just finished on Monday. I've been lurking around here for a few weeks absorbing knowledge and there are still a few things I'd do differently on the next one. I'm still pretty happy with it and I don't think its too bad for a first shot.

It's mostly a copy of this one, http://www.ironvulva.com/?page_id=13, but I liked the look of it so why change it?

I'm planning on making another for my GF if she gets into it. I would probably just plug it into this box to use the other side of the IPAC.

Does it really matter what the wiring looks like?  If it looks good from the outside who cares how clean the inside is.  The only problem I see with some "sloppy wiring" is that it is a pain in the *** to replace/fix when the time comes.  CP looks great!  From one Cheesehead to another :)

It doesn't matter in a technical sense, but as were all fans of arcade gaming that put a lot of effort into our cabs, I would hope we all strive for an elegant solution to our builds.

CP of my beloved ARTIFACT GAME MUSEUM upright cab (designed & built from scratch).
Detailed project thread here.

Some of the early plans - the spinner ended up on the other side (rightly so) - still interesting to see the design process:

Just need to figure out some art for it now
