Will have to check them out.  Unfortunatley, I cut the wires that go to the Speaker, Power Cord, Backlight and Power switch..I should have just left everything intact and replaced them with new parts when needed.  The wiring is going to be the most annoying thing to get done, I think.

Well worth a look is Davey's thread in the woodworking section, which nicely illustrates putting the actual cabinet together from start to finish:

Hello,
It's duller than watching paint dry, and takes longer, but I've started a video showing the build of my arcade cabinet. I've done 5 parts so far - I've done from planning to the stage before painting.

http://www.youtube.com/user/NeilNegNeilNeg

A word of warning, it's in broad north-eastern English so you (especially Americans) probably won't understand a word.

Great videos, looks like a very cool cab. I think your speaking voice is easy to understand, and makes it more interesting.

Cheers. Part 5 is about the only interesting bit as the previous 4 were done after I'd started. Next one you really will be watching paint dry as it's the start of the paint job.

I have 4 or 5 vids on my build thread for The Blue Pill...   :applaud:

1.) cheap marquee retainer
b.) CP and CP-box mounting with pocket hinges
9) using a zip-tie as a strong cable-relief mechanism
IV) Using a 10A relay for powering 2 separate circuits in the cab.

Is over 1.5 years a record? Embedding limit raised. It's a per post/per-page limit, not per user

How to install a test switch in your arcade. This is very useful if you have a multicade board so that you can adjust the dip switches.

I recently finished my own Mame bartop arcade machine.  I made video’s of the whole process on a weekly basis and put them on Youtube.  As this was my first build I wanted to show any mistakes that I would make, and I certainly did.  It was a very honest build.

There are over 20 video’s on my YT channel and I will link it below as it may be of interest and help to others building their own cabinet.   Please feel free to comment on any of the video’s and I will always reply.
Cheers

Arcade 1Up cabinet conversions for dummies and cheapskates

Part 1
In part 1, I discuss finding the correct LVDS converter board, and how to make the most of a stock control panel if you want to modify it over buying a new one.

Part 2
In part 2, I discuss a simple method for plugging in buttons on an encoder, and how to swap out the stock joystick without drilling.

Part 3
In part 3, I discuss how to get sound without an amplifier, and how to run your entire arcade with just 1 power supply.
Parts used are listed in the description below the video on YouTube.

Part 4
In part 4, I go over some basic wiring to put an on/off switch on your cab.
