Please don't tell me I was the only one too mesmerized by these games to actually play them back then. I would put in the quarter, wave my hand through the hologram, laugh real hard, then die. Hardly even played the game. But those hologram people looked awesome! Something on Dragon's Lair 1 & 2, just sat there amazed. |

There were several games made for it. TravisT on this forum had one for a while. Got it for like a hundred bucks. Big sucker. I remember finding the games hard to play because you were trying to make a joystick work in an 3d way. I never remember paying only a quarter for the game though. They had one at the Fountasia Golf n Games. It cost like 3 tokens to play. Back in the day of doing things I ought not do, I remember playing (trying to play) this thing while peaking on vitamin A. I remember being more entertained by trying to grab the little people than the game it's self. We all thought it was real funny. Now, much more clear headed, I think we were a little stupid. Ahhh youth. |

The effect is neat but it's not true holography. It's just an optical illusion created with a curved mirror. |

A plastic parabolic mirror. There was a thread in main about it a while back, dude bought one and in shipping they cracked the mirror on him, snapping a piece off. We debated various methods, I think the guy gave up on it IIRC. It was only Time Traveler and Holloseum. Very unique games, I would have one if I could find one with an intact mirror. Sits pretty wide, takes up more footage than a standard cab but less than a pin. |

If he got it together, he was going to make a collection of games that had only black for a background (DK, Galaga...) because it would lend it's self to the illusion. He just could not resolve the crack issue. Plus the thing was a beast. |
