Coin Door problems-I need help- Tokens not registering EVERY time ??
Timoe:
I use Happ Quarter/Token Mechs and when I put a token in sometimes a credit registers. Sometimes the switch is not fully activated.
Out of frustration, sometimes I just push 3-4 tokens ina slot in rapid succession to get it to register one credit (one press of the "5" key)
Some games even give me a "coin error" message in mame? huh?
I've figured out that it seems like the little wire arm that activates the switch is not swinging down fully under the weight of the tokens.
Is there some adjustment I can make so that the switch gets hit easily and consistently?
thanks

SirPeale:
Could be a bad switch. Or a sticking switch.
Easy way to tell would be to put a game into switch test and start running tokens thru it. If it gets stuck take a look - perhaps the wire actuator is sticking to the sides. Just adjust the wire if that happens so it doesn't rub.
If it's not that...well, keep looking.
Gambit:
Mine has a dip switch that sets how long of a signal it sends. 5 ms, to quick and will cause problems like you describe. 150 ms, just right.

Timoe,
It sounds like you have the coin switch wired incorrectly. This would cause coin errors in some games. Check that you have the wires going to the NO (normally open) and COM (common) tabs of the switch.
Timoe:
just to clarify. If I move the little trip wire on the coin mech with my finger it hits the switch perfectly.
It's like the lever is not being pulled down far enough when the token rolls over it.
I will take pictures and perform additional tests. I will post results here.
