is this worth rescuing? It looks pretty rough.

Edit to add. I one one that is now a mame machine and was thinking of restoring it. (still runing mame with pacman) So I am wondering if I should restore mine or this one.
2PacMan:
Yes, most definately save that one.  Most of the side art is still intact.  The faded portion of the cab should touch up nice with some paint.  It's hard to find a pacman without at least some fading on the sides where players have put their hands.  Repaint the control panel with black rustoleum paint, get a new CPO and it's good to go.  I don't think it's in that bad of shape, i've seen much worse.

YES!

The cabinet art is the hard part (although if you have already printed art, this may be irrelevant) and that looks great, at least compared to my Pac project!

Cheers.

I have not printed the art yet. I have been working on some projects around the house so the wife does not skin me..... :o

I have been gathering parts and info for (too) many upcoming projects. I just happened to run across this....(i must stop looking for this stuff)

I did manage to get 60 amps of Florida's finest power run into the game room though.

I hope to begin project announcements in the next week or two.

If I win the lottery in the mean time it will probably speed things up quite a bit......

Ok guys here is another question.....

will it be cheaper to mame this or get a pacman pcb and jamma adapter?

Taking into account a new computer, ipac arcade vga......

Am waiting on pics of the other side now. This thing is 150 miles away from me  :( and I don't want any suprises!

he wants $100.00 for this thing.

Is this just an empty cab, or does it have some guts, such as at least a monitor?

If you would have to buy everything to make an original pacman, you would definitely be better off picking up a free or very cheap junk pentium 1 cpu, and a 19"monitor. I am getting the vibe that you aren't going to go all out on the refurb, so there is no point spending several hundred on original equipment.

Also, if it is an empty cabinet definitely talk the guy down from $100.
