I'm not a big fan of the jakks, as they cram a vertical screen into a horizontal. I can't dig on that. With that said, if you do go through with it, i would highly reccommend shooting for a jakks unit with some more games. and working pole position in won't be easy - - controls wise, as they use a cheap twist joystick. 6thed. |

And the Jakks that have Pole Position on them .... I use an original Ikari Warriors style joystick. ;) (I never use any of the Jakks controls) |

The good thing is that the twist joystick uses a standard 1/4" shaft. I have a panel that uses a real joystick for the main control, but still has the twist joy mounted with a knob (just for Pole Postion). As far as using it with a monitor, you could get a TV for cheaper, as mentioned, or you could probably find an old PC for cheap. |

For a bartop, if all you have is a PC monitor you either need to get an adaptor, which will be expensive, get a TV which will be equally or less expensive, or get an ancient laptop or mini computer to run MAME and a front end in which is potentially cheap, but much more work to tweak. So... ninthed? |
