How do you get rid of a user login in Win98? This scrap computer I have has a login for somebody named Anthony. It has no password, but I can't get it to stop asking for Anthony. What do you have to do to make it JUST BOOT to Windows? Do you have to take out all of the network capability and then restore it or what? I won't let me delete Anthony's user account. |

If I remember corrctly, just goto the CONTROL panel, Network...and there was an option to make you System to use MICROSOFT NETWORK, WINDOWS (forgot) ...if you find it, just set it to the other one. If not just remove the NETWORK card and try that. |

You can either use Tweak UI and set autologin under network tab. Or find the following key in regedit: --- Code: ---HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Winlogon --- End code --- Set the key AutoAdminLogon to 1 |

Thanks I'll try the regedit. I don't know what Tweak UI is. The machine doesn't have a network card in it, never did have one. I couldn't find "autologin" under the network tab. But I'll look. I knew there was some switch. Thanks. |

You can download it from here. All Tweak UI does is give an interface to a bunch of registry hacks like the one I gave you. So both methods achieve the same thing. |
