| USB device driver corrupts often in my cab |

Hey, I've got this really annoying problem in my cab, one of my USB devices every now and then (actually fairly often) isn't working when I boot up. The reason is its driver gets corrupted; I can fix the problem by uninstalling the device in device manager and then scanning for new hardware - it finds the hardware, installs the driver and starts working fine. Unfortunately, to do all this requires a keyboard. Do you think the problem could be the USB device or its driver? Or something else? I can't finish my nice little arcade machine with this problem occuring. Thanks! |

man..I haven't seen anything like what I'm about to suggest since like..windows 98, but since you didn't specify what OS you're using...maybe it'll be helpful... is the USB bus using the same system resources (IRQ's or whatever) as anything else? come to think of it...mbye USB doesn't even use that kind of stuff? but I remember in the old days you could get some stuff to work when it was first detected but then after a reboot it would go wonky on on you. I dunno man..I'm just trying to help. :dizzy: |

What's the device? |

I've come across this before with network cards and things. It's often fixed by completely removing the drivers, then installing them from whatever factory installer (download or cd) you have *before* plugging in the device again. |
