Tron question

Hello everyone,

I am new and have read a lot of the threads, very informative, a great resource.

Just a question about TRON triggerstick. From what I read you need a diamond restrictor plate so that you can play the light cycles ie. restrict diagonals but not totally, however everything else seems to work in the normal 8 way mode. Is it feasible to have two triggersticks one 8 way and one 4 way (for light cycles) to overcome this. That way you have two sticks that can be used on other games such as Battlezone.

Cheers

Sol :)

The second stick doesn't need to be a trigger stick, as long as you have a button available on the CP somewhere.
The light cycle stage doesn't use the spinner, so all you need is an 8-way trigger stick, and a 4-way regular stick.

It's kind of hard to move, aim with a spinner and shoot at the same time without a trigger.

The original stick used a RUBBER restrictor which made the stick work well as a 4-way, but if you push towards diagonal, it would still work.

Very.  I'm trying to figure out how to create a "snap-on" trigger for this.  Saw a remote for a PC that is meant to turn on or off a device in the machine, if it could be wired to trigger a relay it might work... otherwise you'd need a jack in the panel to plug it in when snapped on.

You'd have a pretty difficult time getting past the third (maybe even 2nd) level spiders and MCP cone without a trigger stick IMO.
