I need to run some cold cathode tubes and fans for my cab but I want to use a separate power supply from my PC to keep potential problems to a minimum. I've been googling and found you can short pins 14 and 15 but it also says you need to have a MOBO attached as the PSU is waiting for a return current to it. Is there another way of doing this? I would like the PSU to have a switch in the cab so I can turn it on and off manually. Cheers ;D |

No, that should work just fine without the mobo. |

Agreed. The short works just fine for me. |

Damn, I've tried this now on two power supplys and nothing happens, I hope I'm shorting the correct two, theres a clip that fits into the mobo between 15 and 16 is this correct? |

Usually it's a green wire. Short that to any ground. Ground will almost always be black. |
