rampy:
not to say it *isn't* a scam... but to point out how e-bay works... you can start an auction at any price you want.  Just because it starts at 9.95 (although oddly i don't see a reserve) doesn't mean it'll end there (duh)...

a dutch auctino does seem like a strange choice for the item, and it is a  little suspicious that he hasn't sold any other arcade stuff before.... *shrug*

I dunno, i'm not saying this guy isn't a sleeze... I'm just saying you're jumping to conclusions.

hey rampy, is there an echo in here??  :o

 ;)
gnateye:
im not sure what to think of this either, he says he is on tennesee, but his measurements are in metric units (cm & kg)

seems extra fishy.

and a feedback rating of 10?!?

my pops always says"if it looks to good ot be true.." and "you get what you pay for, which is usually ripped off"

What, you haven't herd of a NR (no reserve) auction before?? Also, you forgot to notice that shipping is another $105 (which is still suspciously cheap).  BTW: its clearly listed he accepts paypal at the top.  The notice on the bottom is for other forms of payment.

I even went and emailed him and here is response:

--- Quote ---Thank You,
This is a Brand New Arcade Game System. The Image represents the actual complete console. The Shooting Game is "House of the Dead 2." These machines are actual made for the Commercial Arcade Game Rooms, because of their expense. The retail cost of this machine is $4800.00. I am doing a test market to find the demand for these machines in a home environment. This machine is covered by a 1 Year factory warranty and a 1 year extended warranty through E-bay. This warranty covers Parts and Labor. Yes, It accepts quarters or can be set for free play. The shipping is for residential & insurance. The actual freight cost is included with the bid. These attachment will explain more on the machine. I hope this help answer your questions and I really appreciate your interest & response. Feel free to call me at (731) 858-2655 or Fax (731) 858-2768.

Sincerely,

Don Hopper

The attachements were specs for two different cabinets (driving and shooting).  They are manufactured in Japan.  Looks like he just cut and pasted the weight and dimensions from this (which explains why its in kg and cm).

Looks legit to me.  I'd expect them to go well over $2K in the last day of bidding.  You caould always just give him a call if it still sounds shady. He even lists his adderss on the ebay page, so you could go out there and kick his ass if its a scam :-).
hyiu:

hmmm...... if I'm close... I'll definitely bid on it....
