Although I want 'em to win every week, I'm a realist.  The Iggles D, combined with the crappy secondary of the Pack.....I just don't see it ending well.  And I H-A-T-E the fact that McKenzie's team won last night.  If that jag would fall on his face every play, I'd still laugh EVERY time.

Woodson, Collins, Manuel, Carrol?  Heck, at times, even HARRIS looks like he's got feet of stone out there!  Lemme buy those first four players from ya.  I expect change back from my dollar.  At least Hawk showed (to me why we drafted him this last week.

:dunno

Hey Drew...

I know I might be a homer here, but I'm still hoping for the best. Philly does have a good "D" but their secondary is badly beat up and a couple of starters might not go. I'm hoping te O-line will give Brett good protection, I think he can pick them apart... BUT ...the Pack will have to start out fast and not fall behind in the game at all.

I know are secondary is looking like crap. Manuel and Collins cant cover anyone so far this year, they arent even close in their coverage. I agree with you on Hawk, he looks like the real deal. He is very fast, can hit and tackle very well and he plays pass coverage better than our safeties! GO PACK, but if they fall behind early, forget it!!!

Pats looked very good at Cincy.  Fins may be the worst team in the league, but Raiders and Titans are giving them a fight to pick first in the draft.

I was mostly impressed by the second tier blocking the Pats were showing on offense.  Without Graham plowing guys over Maroney ends that game with 50 yards at the most.  Troy Brown threw a couple of really nice ones too.

The Pack made a huge mistake trading Gado.

Just curious, why do you say that? Morency ran for almost 100 yards last week and Gado has done nothing for the Texans.

Because I think Gado is extremely talented.  The first team that finds a way to bring that out will see a top tier running back.

Morency ran for 99 yards on 26 carries.  That's a sub 4.0 average.  It's decent.

Look at the 12/11 game last year.  Gado ran for 171 yards on 29 carries.  Sure, it was the Lions, but he also put up 100+ on the Falcons and the Eagles last year.  The guy is from Africa and basically brand new to football.  He has a LOT to learn about the complexity of run blocking, which is his biggest problem... he will eventually pick that up.  The Packers just weren't willing to wait long enough.

IMO, the Packers traded away high potential for immediate lesser return.

I don't believe Gado was picking up the offense quickly enough either.  Sounds like a simple scheme, but he wasn't showing a good understanding of it.  Morency is better suited to the offense, as well as being a young player.

It was simply a matter of them not liking Gado for the type of offense they're going to be trying to run.

I agree that in the right system, he's going to be a damn fine RB.  The Texans can't block well enough to keep their QB from being killed, so I doubt that's the right system.  It may be something they're getting used to with Kubiak, though.

The rules say an hour before the game you want to pick... so you're still good, but can only pick that game.

Thank god the Bucs didn't turn out to be the only winless team in the league this week.  That would have been embarrassing.

I know are secondary is looking like crap. Manuel and Collins cant cover anyone so far this year, they arent even close in their coverage.

I forgot all about this!  I gained so much respect for whoever made the decision to cut Carrol in the middle of the week!  That turd should have been cut after last season's holding/hands-to-the-face/trip-'em/whatever method of defense he resorted to.  The only thing he didn't try was tying the laces together of the person he was about to be burned by!

To me, the verdict is still out on Thompson, but I like McCarthy as a coach.  He's still got to live with the crap Sherman handcuffed him with, but next year should be better unless Thompson turns out to be as bad as Sherman, and 2 years from now, we should be looking pretty decent again (and the Bears should be starting to slide).

Only thing I haven't liked from McCarthy is him not putting Rodgers in earlier in that blowout to the Eagles.  5 minutes to go, down by a brazilian, and Favre is still out there?  :dunno  Maybe he had him in there for more "practice" with the new scheme, but damn, isn't that what preseason's for?

I'm one of Favre's biggest fans outside of Wisconsin... but even I will say that at this point, Rodgers needs to be getting game time.  They are stunting the team's near future for the sake of preserving the end of its past by giving Favre all of the snaps.  I know Favre presents a better chance to win today than Rodgers but in games like that blowout, Rodgers needs to play.

Maybe Rodgers isn't the guy they expect to succeed Favre.
