Neverland Complete! (pics)
« on: March 18, 2003, 01:05:41 pm »
Finally I have finished my cab. No earth shattering new technology, just a cab, so no website coming. But I thought I'd post a few pics. 'scuse the photography  :-[ I just plain suck with a camera. Cabinet contains:
1.7ghz proc
geoforce 2
W&G U3100 monitor
IPac
....and runs:
Mame, Daphne, Zinc, Gens and Zsnes through the wonderful MameWah frontend

its looking REALLY nice and clean.

question though.

thats custom bezel right?

How did you do it?

Just black paper then printed some charecters?

its a good idea(the bezel). :)

what kind of monitor you got in there(I am guessing a 19" u3100 right?) ???

good job on the cab. ;D

Just black paper then printed some charecters?

Hardly snaaake,
Its actually re-drawn 100% from scratch

The images that I found on the net were just to small to do a Classic cut&paste job. So I redrew them, vectored them, recoloured them and then produced the bezel in 4 parts. PSP7 doesnt handle memory too well and and such a size it was impossible to have multiple layers on the large bezel layout I made. Each section was produced seperately but printed together. All the artwork was created by me and like the marquee was all loosely based on capcoms MVSC layouts that I found on CPS2shock. Restyled for the pocket fighters though  ;)

i like, a lot!

one question, is the cabinet hand-built, or a conversion of something old...
if it's hand built do you still have the blueprints for it?

Looks great, but its a horrible name! Ever since Michael Jackson has laid claim to it I don't think too many people can read that name without getting a shudder.

....Unless you're going for that? *shrug*

Ever played Pocket Fighter man?  :P

waveryder didnt name his cabinet "neverland" and choose to add some so called "kiddy chracters" because he likes his stuff like that(you know...Jackson style ! LOL !).

I honestly think its a great looking cabinet with nice theme and pocket fighter is one of the coolest game too ! and the bezel is looking great as well.

I never made the link with the cab name  ;D. My other half named the cab for me saying how fitting it was as I refused to grow up! Still like the name. The cab was originally a standard "silverline" jamma cab, common in the UK. It was completely gutted when I got it. I stripped it down and filled all the holes et. The left control panel rest was completely rebuilt, as it was smashed out when i got it, with sawdust and wood glue. You cant notice it even close up. Re painted the whole thing, with a roller. I hade the control panel remade. Its metal so I needed a proffessional to bend it. I have a spare panel that I want to add a starwars yoke to. Any offers to build this for me  ;D.

Next time I post a pic I'll make sure im running moonwalker  ;)
ooooooow!

Very good artwork, man! Perfect job, love it - and I'm even not in the fighter-genre.  :)

Have you got a clearer picture of what the text on your bezel reads? I'm still open for some instructioncard-inspiration for my cab!

Funny, when I hear "Neverland", I think more of Beetlejuice, though they called it slightly different. But then, Michael Jackson has no meaning here anymore. (except when he is caught playing to much with kids again  ;) )

For that, I think the name of your cab is rather cool.
