wiring question
squirrellydw:
well I am finally at the point where I can start wiring up my cocktail table. I don't have the PC or my iPac yet but everything else will be here in a couple days. I have two pacman/galaga reunion sticks, two P360s and electric ice buttons with an LEDWIZ. My question is how do I wire this all up? What is the easiest way? I will be looking over the Project Arcade Book but I know it doesn't cover the Electric Ice buttons. I was going to use 22 gauge wire for everything.
Any suggestions, help and comments would be much appreciated.
Thanks
I will also have a 3rd control panel with two more P360s, Electric Ice Trackball and an Apache Spinner but I don't have the panel built yet

the 22ga wire will work for all your needs.
Wire up the leds first and try and keep the wires tidy and close to the wood.
Wire up all your switches on a top layer above your led wires

thanks, any other tips or suggestions? Do the electric ice buttons come with any instructions on how to hook them up? I guess the P360 is the hardest to hook up since it needs power, where should I get that from. The buttons and reunion sticks just get wired directly to the IPac right?

I plan on starting the wiring Saturday.

The electric ice buttons don't come with any instructions, but you just hook them up like any other button. You will have two wires going to each button. One wire will go to NO (normally open) on the microswitch. The second wire will go to COM (common ground) on the microswitch. You will also want to daisy chain your grounds together. Since you have the Project Arcade book you can find more information on this topic by going to pages 66-67 and page 174

I got my power from the power supply. More information can be found in the Project Arcade book on pages 175-177.

Yes, the buttons and reunion sticks are wired to the Ipac.
