Is there a good reason for all of those partitions? With this being primarily a user oriented hobby, you want to make things as easy on yourself and the software as you can. You always have to remember that all of these great frontends, emulators and other tools are primarily user donated and programmed and are not made for every setup possible. Most of the time these things were done for the programmer in mind and then he/she decided to share it with the rest of us. So my suggestion to anyone getting into this is to make things as absolutely simple as possible to maximize compatibility and make error finding easier. |

I agree Brophog. I must admit, I asked myself the same question when I started trouble-shooting...why the heck did I create so many partitions?! I do like having two partitions (system/application) because it allows MAME a clean disk space to operate on (independent of systems files and processes) and it can make back-ups easier.
