Super Auctions Atlanta -w- MYX Report
MYX:
Alright alright alright. Get of my back Ma! ;)
Ok heres the poop. Drove down there and arrived about 8:15 am. As I was pulling up I saw Art and the wife getting getting out of their car. About that time the doors opened. (LATE...but this is expected).
I grabbed the camera and headed inside for a first look. I find that you have to go up and down the isles several times to get your brain to wrap around what all is there. There was a lot of stuff this time. Not nearly as much as the last one in Feb. though. The condition of these pieces was also not as nice as the Feb aucion either. Oh well, it is what it is. I started taking pictures of the stuff. When you are taking pictures you nitice things that you might not otherwise notice. Most of this stuff was covered in dust. Once I moved past the eeby jeebies of the groseness of several cabinets, I started crawling around several of the cabinets. Immediatly I saw a Millipede. There was no plug that I could find and an auction guy was right there. I asked it I could open the cab to see if there was a plug inside. He said yes. We, (I think it was Art???) and I opened it. There was a plug. I jave it some juice and the marquee came up and I would have swore that the LEDs on the main board lit up too, but can't be sure. The cab was solid and very nice (if you can get past the inch thickness of bug dust). The boards were intact and I would hear the monitor whine. Right away this was my #1 choice for the day. Art really wanted it too and I do have to give a hat off to the guy for letting me take the bid for it. I did it under the understanding that he could come over some day and take the measurments to build his own.
On through the morning we checked stuff and played many games of everything we could get power to. There was a drop dead georgous Omega Race. The marquee powered up, but that was about it. I tried to bid on this but lost. Apparently this was a God's send because as I found out later, ORs have a battery at the top of the main board and if they leak they literally distroy the board. So oh well.
So around 11 am or so, I met Saint. It was a little hard to get to him as there were like 2,000 groupies all wanting autographs n stuff. Eventually he had to pull out some nunchucks and go all ninja like on em'. It was good to meet the man behind the little shield. If you can get past the Austrian accent, he is fun to talk to. (see picture above).
All in all I got the Millipede ($200), a Virtua Fighter ($10), NeoGeo 1 slot w no monitor ($10) and a Rowe BC11D Coin changer ($10).
So now to the pix
First up the panos
MYX:
There was a smash TV there. I have not actually seen one at an auction before. I was going to bid on it, but it went up way too high way too fast.
MYX:
Sadness part 1. Asteroids. change the name to Hemroids. so sad :hissy:
MYX:
Sadness part 2...Tron. For the love of God...WHY!?! They made it a time pilot 84
MYX:
Sadness Part 3...The killer of the bunch. TEMPEST. this was just plain sickness. This took a lot of friggin effort to bastardize this thing. On the third one you can see the picture they pasted to the back of the cabinet.
