It's High Gloss Oil Based Paint applied with a good quality foam roller.
~ You load the roller up... but not too much to the point of dripping everywhere!
~ Apply the coat in different strokes.  eg.. roll from top to bottom, side to side, diagonal to diagonal.. to get good coverage.  DO NOT reload the roller with paint.  Once is enough.  You can easily paint the entire face of a house dorr with only one load-up.
~ Then roll the excess paint off the roller onto sheets of newspaper, laid out on the floor near the project.
~ Then gentley 'run-off' over the painted surface(s).  IE.   Start from the top edge.. gently rest the roller onto the surface, applying as little pressure as possible, (enough to keep the roller rolling on the surface and not sliding!!) and run the roller down towards the bottom edge.  Do this again side by side.  DO NOT run-off in other directions, just top to bottom.

An old painter gave me this tip when I was painting my house doors.  If you look carefully, you still will probably get a very slight 'orange peel effect'.. but it still looks great.

Good Luck

The Boys Are Back in Town !

Couldn't help myself.., sorry?

Not really :)

But, as someone said earlier, maybe not everyone realized how small the Tomatocade actually was/is ..so here's a comparison picture. Tomatocade was supposed to be a small one player tabletop, but is it really, or is Jack just too big.. whaddya think?

The boys: Jack (L), Fuzzy* (R)

On another note: the Tomatocade has no t-molding whatsoever and I really meant to leave it as it is.. But since it has no pinball buttons etc. the sides do not really get "rubbed/touched/banged/beaten/whatever".

So, what do YOU people think if I just finished Tomatocade with the (Bombjack) leftover acrylics? Once this stuff has cured, I'm sure, it'd stand the occasional "contacts" for quite a long time, maybe for years?

Anyway, the leftover colors are:

DARK BLUE
LIGHT BLUE
RED
WHITE
FLESH...

What do you think?

PS. I'll update the Bombjack thread as soon as I'm able to stop playing.. ;)

Yours, Psycho.

* Yeah, might be that Fuzzy wasn't in TAotKT 1 ... :)

My thoughts?

Awesome...

You can really see how small Tomatocade is next to a normal sized bartop. Good work.

Thanks :)

Still, any thoughts about the finish?

Instead of t-molding ..acrylics, but what colour?

Well, yeah..

Instead of t-molding I used a few layers of acrylic paint. Should last at least a few years as there are no pinball buttons or anything..

The final pictures of my first mini bartop:

May have lost some of its character with the paint ..?

The CP overlay is cut flush to the plexi ..the pictures lie :)

Anyway, it is officially done!
