X-arcade or custom built?

How does the x-arcade joystick compare to a custom built controller? They're both about the same cost, minus build time, and both could be used in a full cab at a later date.

X-Arcades are too small. I know because I have experienced the feel of an X-Arcade stick. My friend has one and they are very small, no elbow room for either person. I say build one that is custom, always the way to go. You can add as much stuff on it as you want (elbow room, buttons, sticks, graphics outlay, etc.) and it is custom. Plus you get the satisfaction that you built it yourself ;D which made me really happy once I was done with my first one. Thanx.

I bought an x-Arcade when it first came out. Weeks later I bought an arcade machine because I realised how great it fealt to play on arcade controls. I would reccomend buying the X-arcade solo, only if you are looking for a reletively portable joystick. If you are planning on using it in a cabinet later, I would suggest buying The innards and an adapter of your choice (Don't get the dreamcast adapter, It doesn't support a memory card and many games load only from port 1). I ended up taking the innards out of the x-arcade control panel and creating a quick adapter so it would be simple to use with my jamma cabinet.

...so now i have this wonderful x-arcade joystick sitting around, and I don't know what to do with it. I'm thinking of building a supergun, but I don't really have the motivation (I only have two JAMMA games: Primal Rage and killer Instinct). I know It will come in handy sometime... maybe I should build a mini cabinet... maybe

Is it possible to just buy the internals and use it as an alternative to an I-PAC? This would probably be the best solution as you could use any consoles with the cab too. I can't find anything on thier site about buying just the inards tjo, just the full controller.

Build a mini cab.  Build..... build...... build......

I have a home built supergun that is just sitting around and I thought I would build a mini mortal combat cab with the ps pcb and harness but I already have 2 mame bartops so I don't really need one.

But it is fun keeping busy.
